Ehp En Arts! Monday, January 26, 2026 at 7:30 PM MST

Bert Church Theatre Mainstage
_____________________ Please note that this event will be held in French.
Please note that this event will be held in French. The students of the École des Hautes-Plaines Academy of Arts are very proud to present this two-part artistic evening. From 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., come and see the arts exhibition from the visual arts students in the theater lobby. The exhibition Les Treize lunes (The Thirteen Moons) presents a series of acrylic paintings inspired by the lunar calendar according to Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) traditions. In this worldview, the year is not divided into twelve months, but into thirteen moons, each marking a natural, spiritual, and community cycle. Each moon has an evocative name linked to the seasons, animals, harvests, changes in nature, and teachings passed down from generation to generation. The rhythm of the moons guides activities, ceremonies, observation of the world, and respect for natural balances. Through acrylic painting, the artists of the Academy of Arts have interpreted these thirteen moons in a sensitive and contemporary way. The colors, shapes, and symbols reflect the passage of time, the energy specific to each moon, and the importance of the connection between culture, nature, and spirituality. This exhibition is intended as a tribute to Niitsitapi traditions, a celebration of the cycle of life, and an invitation to slow down, observe, and recognize the wisdom contained in natural rhythms. Starting at 7:30 p.m., you are invited to the theater by the students of the Academy's drama program. They will have you laughing out loud with their performance of the comedy Catastrophobia, by author Jimmy Doucet. Twelve people with very little in common, except for uncontrollable phobias, gather in the brand new “ultra-secure” basement of Marilyne, the self-proclaimed leader of this motley therapy group. Everything is going well until a tiny detail turns things upside down: the door with its impressive security system closes, and Marilyne remembers that the installers put the lock on the wrong side... How will they get out? A community evening presented by École des Hautes-Plaines. Entrance through the Bert Church Live Theatre main entrance doors. Doors open at 6:00 pm.
Bar and canteen service available on site. General admission: $17.70
Students (5-17) and Seniors (60+): $11.80
Prices include GST and handling fees. Please contact the theatre box office at 403.948.8824 if you require wheelchair space. Online/phone purchases and in-person credit card purchases are subject to a 2% service fee. Visit airdrie.ca/servicefee for more information. Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend the evening, the ticket price will be considered a donation to the École des Hautes-Plaines Arts Academy program.
